Gerrard to Leave Liverpool at the End of the Season

Steven Gerrard will confirm his decision to leave Liverpool later this week after 16 years in the first team. Despite being offered a new deal by his home club, he is wanted by three MLS clubs and the prospect of being on the bench for much of next season has deterred him from putting pen to paper.

Peter Crouch says; “Steven is easily the best player I have ever played with.”

Jamie Carragher; “Sad day for Liverpool and English football. I think it’s the right decision, all things considered.”

Gary Lineker; “One of the finest players to have graced the Premier League. A top, top player.”

Regarded as one of the best players for Liverpool, he made his debut in 1998 and went on to lead the club to 10 trophies. He will be sorely, sorely missed and it’s a shame his wonderful Liverpool career has to end this way.

  1. What do you mean about don’t get to excited about barnet yet – we’re going to get automatic promotion! He would be great with Mcdonald, Akinde , marshbrown, cook, villa…

      1. I’ll give you a clue – he’s their top goal scorer so far this season and he’s a red man through and through…!

  2. Lou, for me he is the greatest. Led the team single-handedly and scored the greatest Liverpool goal ever – Olympiakos. It’s the right decision to go now – if he wants a league title, maybe he should play for Barnet?!
